Default Numismatic coins - an opinion

hi guys. be careful buying numismatic coins for these reasons:

1. a lot of scamming is done on ebay, coins can be modified to make them look older or given distinctive marks to make them seem rarer than they are, stick to a reputable dealer like www.Goldline.co.uk chards.com or atsbullion.com. ATS has a good advice section and are pretty knowledgeable, Goldline (aka Baird & Co.) have by far the biggest selection but you have to email them for their stock lists.

2. the premiums are so high because collectors will pay a hefty amount to complete their collections, i.e the rationality and adherence to the goldd price that is inherent in the mainstream coins (eg Krugers, Brits) is not present in numismatics. so they are a far more risky investment

opinions? thought? debate? anyone care to share their collections? this forum is a bit dead isn't it!
