Default Gold Jewelry India International Exhibition 2006

The Gold Jewellery India International Exhibition 2006 began at the Chennai Trade Centre in Chennai, Madras on February 17th.

Exhibitors came from Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Calcutta, Jaipur, Delhi and Bangalore and further afield.

Featured was a 99.51-carat diamond necklace decorated with 88 stones worth Rs 3.75 crore, and a gold blouse worth Rs 10 lakh.

India, as the world's largest gold jewelry market, is seeing changes in styles and types of gold jewelry pieces being bought as the quickly growing urban middle class seeks western influences.

It will only be few years until the indian gold floods the world jewelery markets.
In a few years they will have plumb laws & be able to trade in mass quanity.
It is amazing that the largest consumer gold jewelery market has been isolated for so long, from western markets.
Very beautiful handcrafted workmanship done with ancient methods.

Well I have been to India and I witnessed a pitful situation there. The local people there dont get the chance to wear gold ornaments themselves as they feel the price tag is beyond their reach, its limited to only some of the higher graded people. But anyways this is true that the Indian markets are abundant with gold and related accessories and they surely have the potential to be the world leader in this aspect.
