The predictions I'm working on in the short term are from financialsense.com in the News Hour where Jim Puplava and Frank Babara say the gold price may fall to around $490 in May to April before moving back above the previous high of $572. However, with the events in Iran regarding the Euro Oil Bourse and the nuclear issue this could all change.

James Turk's prediction of gold reaching $850 in March 2006, could be possible. The oil bourse will launch in Iran on March 22 2006, I believe. It will be interesting to see what the response is from the US. When Saddam starting selling oil in Euros, the US attacked soon after.

James Turk sees the gold price reaching as high as $850 this year. Many other gold price forecasters are talking about gold reaching at least $660 this year.

My long term gold price prediction ranges between, Jim Sinclairs forecast of $1650 and Marc Fabers prediction of gold reaching $40,000 in a hyperinflation environment where the dow gold ratio is 1. But the dow has risen to 40000 due to the collapse of the US Dollar.

Bill Murphey of Gata.org is forecasting the gold price reaching $2000 to $5000, I believe. I think John Embry is forecasting gold to reach $2000.

Most gold forecasters who have an idea where the gold price may go don't like predict gold prices going much over $2000US because of what it would mean to the world if the gold price was to reach those high levels. i.e. The world as we know it would be in a lot of trouble.

broke the $700 mark!

Many predict minimum $800 by the end of the year.
& many predict it to soar
Just last month controversial Hong Kong fund manager Marc Faber, who urged investors to bail out of US stocks a week before the 1987 Black Monday crash, said gold could rise tenfold in the next 10 years to $US6000 an ounce.

I just see it rise and rise, and do not see a suprise fall in sight, nor have I heard any others see one ahead.
