Aloha Na'ga'ra'ja
You ask why gold coins prices are high.
Fresh coins cost more than the gold market value to produce,
thus they fetch a price a little above market value,
so there producers can make a small profit above there manufacturing costs and current market prices.

Then there is the aspect of collectors of limited production runs of certain coins some new and many rare old ones.
IMO these people are at great risk,& thus better left to the mega rich who are destined to hard times, when it is needed to seed the atmosphere as a catylist to save our planet one day in the future.
At that time a old coin and a fresh nugget shall have the same worth and be made into nano particles to save us.

If one looks at golds history thru time, one sees that the gold in a ring today carries a high probabitity that one day it was in another form possibly even held by the rajas, kings,& gods long ago.

Buy gold without greed and you shall keep safe my freind.
& seek good books on coins,if that is the form you seek, because coins are tricky market, very safe if understood. because as you asked some are different in quality & quantity of gold in the coins is not always .999 some are much lower.

Aloha

Aloha
