Default Carbon Fullerenes[buckyballs] Now Have Metallic Cousins

link:
http://www.netcomposites.com/news.asp?3763

after reading the article check out the possible uses of simple carbon based buckyballs in this article:
http://www.science.org.au/nova/024/024box02.htm

These beautiful gold cages dwarf the potential of regular carbon based buckyballs.

The things science is spawning are beyond the greatest expectations I ever thought I would see in my lifetime. And I am only middle aged!
I can only imagine what lies ahead for gold and its limitless potential uses.
This magical substance once only available to gods, kings and alchemists!
Today it gives us computers & soon tiny gold particles usher in the next age!

I see a day where particle sized cages like this shall be manufactured into simluated imposter shell like replicas of "organism like shapes" & attatch to disease viruses and dna to make them do as we wish.

Think of it like this, lets take a virus for example.
It has receptors that we could build a cage to fit into like a key that fits onto the virus ONLY to block virus acitivity and/or kill the virus fully and extra particles not used along with the dead viruses would be excreted in the usual manner

As it stands today we can computer model a virus.
Once we learn to mold nano gold cages into different geometric shapes we can use the computer to try these different shapes to see if they fit into protein and amino acid receptors and fool the virus into submission or death!
