Hello. Love the site. Lots of great info we have found.
My wife and I have begun to buy gold coins recently. We have 17 Krugerrands, 3 Maple Leafs and 1 Eagle. All 1 ounce coins. Our average buy price is $660 per. We have about another $6000 of "mad money" (money we do not have invested at all, just stuffed in the safe) we may spend on gold. If we can purchase below our average buy price, we will probably go ahead and do it. I really have a strong feeling that with so much going on in the world, instability is going to plague all of the currencies. Gold seems like a good investment and security idea. And it is just gorgeous. So hello to all.If you have any tips for us newcomers. please let us know. But be courteous. We have been to a few other places that acted like they were offended that novices who hold no degrees in economics would dare to come to their gold site and ask questions of them! Thanks - J |

Aloha roostercogburn
A warm golden welcome to you & your wife. Great to hear of yall, getting into the goldscene. Quote:
One thing I can recommend is to use "words" as a tool to manifest what you seek now & in the future. What I mean by this is that we all hear about fiat dollars being in some uncharted deep waters, but try to avoid words like "plague" because the word itself can mean "cause to suffer a blight".I am proud to be an American & although I dont like the way fatcats inside the beltway have set our system up,I do not see it set up for a disasterous fall. I do not wish a plague on anything & doubt in your heart that you do either being a John Wayne fan & all. Quote:
,and it is so noble as well.It rubs off on those that hold it in hand, sadly it does not rub off so easily on people who only hold it in paper/stock/egold forms, hopefully those types keep some on hand and body at least in the form of rings and other adornments,to gain its noble benifits to ones mind. BTW novice to me = NO VICES which in my book is good thing! To me it indicates no one has placed a vise upon you to squeeze you dry, indicating you live and do as your heart mind and gut tell you,and not blindly obey others advice, which can be a vice at times. Vice and dice rhyme for reason, being a novice for life keeps one safe, for everyone knows savings should not be a gamble. I thank you for your post and feel free to ask any questions, people here are diverse crowd and shall give you different angles to help you with YOUR decisions.Peace and Aloha

Hello and welcome roostercogburn. Glad to hear you have found goldprice.org helpful. Congratulations on your gold coin purchases.
$660 will seem like an absolute bargain in a few years time. So will silver under $15 an ounce. Please make yourself at home and feel free to ask any question you like .
